The United Arab Emirates has ended its travel ban on Lebanon, permitting Emirati citizens to travel to the country from Monday, June 29, 2026, after nearly two months of the ban.
UAE nationals are now allowed to travel to the Lebanese Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, adding that they must register through the Twajudi service before leaving the country. Travellers are required to give their address in Lebanon, emergency contact information and any changes to this information while they are in Lebanon. They also have to inform the ministry via the service upon their return to the UAE.
The ministry cautioned citizens that they could be subject to legal liability and delays in travel procedures if they do not complete the registration process. Emiratis have been urged to call the UAE’s emergency hotline for citizens abroad in case of emergencies.
The new ruling comes after the UAE on April 30 issued a ban on its citizens travelling to Lebanon, Iran and Iraq due to developments in the region and called on citizens of those countries to return home immediately.
The decision is likely to facilitate increased travel between the UAE and Lebanon, especially in the summer period, while maintaining the consular monitoring measures. It also comes as part of the broader diplomatic initiatives to ensure the safety of travel for Emiratis in the face of the changing security situation in the region.
Authorities have urged citizens who are travelling to Lebanon to adhere to official instructions, ensure they have fulfilled all pre-travel requirements and have contact information registered with the authorities during their trip.
